rare 1963 Chrysler 300 Pace Setter convertible. This is the true classic Chrysler, one of only 1861 pace setter convertibles ever produced. Lovingly cared for by the same owner for 23 years, it was purchased new from Stevens Motors, Tacoma, Washington delivered on July 31, 1963. For 1963, Chrysler built a 300 Convertible for the 47th Indianapolis 500 race. To commemorate this occasion, Chrysler built a limited number of 300 models known as the Pace Setter editions and produced approximately 300 hardtops and 1,861 convertibles in this series. The Pace Setters models were given special alabaster white interior, bucket seats, power steering and power brakes. Finished in a correct Pace Car Blue (code VV1) this car shows extremely well. The front and rear chrome bumpers fit well and finish is exquisite. The front grill is in very good condition as is the rear aluminum panel. The white power convertible roof, with interior matching boot both have a tight finish and look great. The “Indy 500” graphic package is in great shape and really sets this car off. The bright trim pieces are present and have a great finish. The headlights and taillights are in very condition with no hazing or cracks. Inside, this Chrysler features it’s correct Alabaster vinyl (code 227) and the front and rear seats looks great. The matching door panels, carpet and black dashboard are a continuation of the striking interior of this convertible and look fantastic. The weather-stripping is excellent, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. All the original equipment gauges are well placed, have correct appearance as originally design, however, the fuel gauge is inoperable. The original Chrysler steering wheel and push-button radio are in very good condition. This ’63 Pacesetter is nicely equipped with a 305 hp 383 cid Chrysler V8 engine fed by a 2-barrel carburetor. Power is transferred to the wheels by a 3-speed push-button Torqueflite automatic transmission. Drivers assist features include power steering, power brakes and even cruise control. The 15-inch chrome wheels with smoothie trim caps complete the look.
