The car has an interesting Alaskan story. The owner also had two ferrari testarossa racers with consecutive serial numbers.  Those two cars were sold as a set in the late seventies or early 80s. The Ferraris and this Abarth Zagato were road raced at Tanacross and ice raced on Big Lake Alaska, you can search for pics. Late in life, the Ferrari’s became outclassed on the straights by the big block corvettes and were thankfully retired and not modified, but this little Abarth Zagato was heavily modified by the Ferrari owner to run with anything on the ice or road track. I found the car just last week as it was about to be dismantled to use the engine in another racer.  The motor was built at considerable expense, all custom internal pieces in the aluminum block buick v8 before any were commercially available.  The transaxle is from a corvair with custom cut gears. The car is a little monster on the road or track.
